Welcome

I’m Alison, the founder of Positively Virtual. I have over 20 years’ experience in administration, from personal assistant, to office manager, to project manager, and I LOVE organising and setting up systems. I’ve worked with teams all over the world, so I know how to get the job done without meeting face-to-face, or even being in the same timezone.

I have a Masters in English language, and a lot of experience working with non-native English speakers. These combine to give me a high level of accuracy in writing and proofreading, as well as “reading between the lines” and drawing out what you want to say if you’re struggling to say it (in both speech and text).

As a European project manager, I’ve managed budgets of millions of Euros per year, to very exacting reporting and auditing standards, so if you’re struggling with receipts and expenses, I have plenty of techniques to help you with that.

For the past 10 years, I’ve been working in Higher Education, which has taught me a lot about learning! In the past, I’ve taught French and Spanish to children, and English to all ages, and for four years I managed and delivered regular training as a volunteer for the Samaritans (UK listening helpline charity), so I’ve created training materials for a range of topics and media. Added to that, I’m a veteran of over 100 online courses, so I have a broad perspective on teaching and learning from both sides of the table. I know exactly what works in an online course, and I’m happy to share that knowledge with you.
